If you are beginning to run for the first time, then the Beginner Marathon Plan is for you. It is the bare minimum to get you through a marathon.

The difference between this plan and the "To Finish" plan is that this plan calls for more walking while the "To Finish" Plan calls for more cross-training during the week. The long run mileage on the weekend is the same for both programs.  

Everyone can have a good experience in a marathon, as long as you keep a comfortable pace throughout. If you have a good experience, you'll want to do it again!
