This training program is designed for the athlete who has competed in a sprint triathlon before but wants to increase speed or prevent over training. This programs focus is on developing your personal goals. Athletes will do best in this program if they have a good endurance base. Workouts in this program are prescribed based on training load, meaning total time spent in each heart rate zone. By focusing on staying within the prescribed load, athletes can avoid overtraining and minimize the risk of injury. About Heart Zones Training System The Heart Zones Training System uses your personal cardiac training range to define your individual training program for optimum fitness and performance. Heart Zones Training is based on science, research, experience and the perception that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all, universal training program. To be effective, exercise must be tailored to fit each of us. Heart Zones Training Plans provide a method to completely personalize your exercise program. We teach you to get an accurate idea of your heart zones and what each has to do with well-being. Once you know that you are ready for training.
